"Is something wrong, Ravenswoop?" The ginger tabby looked over his deputy with concern. He could tell there was something different about him, by how shadowed and darkened he looked now.
"I need to talk to you." The grey-brown tom looked up at the leader, deep yellow eyes blank and fazed.
Foxstar's tail tip twitched, expecting something disastrous. "Go on."
-------
Lionstrike was padding towards the entrance of MistClan, guilt overwhelming him as he ducked under the thorn shrubs into a dark clearing, fog close to his ginger paws. He kept his head up and eyes challenging, walked across to where a towering tree stood.
Cats had started milling around him, drawing back when they caught a whiff of the scent of SunClan. A dark brown tabby tom brushed past a group of cats, meeting Lionstrike's threatening gaze eye to eye. "SunClan?"
Lionstrike stared him down, raising his lips in a snarl. He said nothing.
The tabby looked at him in disgust. "Spy, I suppose. What do you want?"
His claws slid out, eyes flickering with pure annoyance. "You tell me."
His 'challenger' narrowed his eyes, tail lashing to the side as he brushed past the warrior. "Featherstar!"
The same familiar sky blue eyes looked out from the mist, and it wasn't long before he heard the thump of paws landing in front of him. "Well, Lionstrike, I see you've made your choice."
Lionstrike's ear twitched, nodding ever so slightly.
"Well." She looked him over, eyes glinting with satisfaction. "MistClan," She looked past him, towards the group of cats no larger than SunClan. "This is Lionstrike of SunClan. He is joining the clan, so..." Featherstar grinned menacingly. "Make him feel welcome."
-------
Foxstar stood poised atop the Sunrock, looking over the camp slowly. "All cats old enough to catch their own prey, join here beneath the Sunrock for a clan meeting." His voice was raised only slightly, but the familiar surrounding of cats appeared just the same.
"We have bad news." Ravenswoop stood by his leader's side, eyes clouded with worry.
The dark ginger leader nodded, speaking out once more, "Lionstrike, one of the warriors of SunClan," He watched as cats noticed the missing cat, confused. "...has left. He's now with MistClan." Shock ran through the camp, utterly silent as the news soaked in.
"He was an honorable warrior, but if you see him on our territory," The leader paused, regretful of the next words. "treat him as you would treat a MistClan cat. He's not one of us anymore."
Wolfpelt seemed rather enthusiastic. "Grrr.. If that mangy morsel of morbid MistClan mouse-dung! If he set one TOE in our territory I'll.. I'LL - "
ReplyDelete" - Wolfpelt.." Swallownose warned her mate and started to move him back to the Elder's Den. Wolfpelt trudged along with her, muttering things under his breath.
-Swallow & Wolf
Shadowflower was still in shock. She glanced up at her brother with her mouth open, and he nodded back solemnly. She lowered her head to look at her paws, her eyes clouding with sadness. How could this happen?
-Shadow
Foxstar blinked at Wolfpelt's words, somewhat understanding of his anger. He leaped off the Sunrock, making his way quickly back into his den.
ReplyDeleteNightbreeze breathed out a sigh, tail curling over her paws as she thought.
(Sorry I haven't commented)
ReplyDeleteDreamfeather was taken aback, she looked around, "He wouldn't leave unless he had a reason to. Why don't we ask his side of the story. We might find out why he left."
Falconfeather sighed.
Emberflair looked at Foxstar shocked.
(It's alright~ ^-^)
ReplyDeleteFoxstar caught Emberflair's gaze before he entered his den, eyes full of worry. He nodded swiftly, clarifying her surprise.
Nightbreeze looked in Dreamfeather's direction. "We could, but we would need a way to get into the territory without being shred to pieces by MistClan cats. Featherstar could've forced information out of Lionstrike, even if he refused to, about what our battle techniques are. He's been here long enough to know. If he didn't tell her though...wouldn't he be badly hurt by now?"
Dreamfeather nodded.
ReplyDeleteEmberflair took one more look around the camp then padded into the nursery.
Falconfeather padded over to Ravenswoop. "Want me to take a patrol out?" She asked.
